“I FEAR ALL WE HAVE DONE IS TO AWAKEN A SLEEPING GIANT…”…Japanese Admiral Yamamoto after the bombing of Pearl Harbor

I would like to address a concern I keep hearing within the Conservative camp. While we are pleased that our tea parties, marches and town hall attendance are beginning to thwart Democrat efforts to socialize this nation, there seems to be a great deal of worry regarding our ability to maintain momentum. While I certainly believe we need to keep up the pressure, I am not terribly concerned about drops in momentum here and there, and this is because of the nature of Conservative enlightenment.

Let me remind you, once you become a Conservative, you never go back. We don’t lose our guys to the dark side. A vast majority of Conservatives were once Liberal when we were younger, but we kept educating ourselves, kept travelling the path, until finally we made our way to the destination: Conservatism.

As Churchill once said, “Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains.” Would you like to know how many Liberals I have met, heard of or read about that were once Conservatives? ZIP. ZERO.

So take heart, my friends. Obama has awakened a sleeping giant, and each day brings more and more Conservatives into the fold. Most of these new “activists” are participating in the political process for the very first time. While people may get busy and personal involvement may wax and wane, these folks have seen the light and will not slip back into the darkness so easily.
