Open Memo to Liberals

I am fortunate enough to receive dissenting opinions to my political ramblings and what I see expressed again and again from you is a strong feeling of wanting to help others, accompanied by a statement of support for one asinine government plan or another.  I ask you, how caring are you if you damage the very people you claim to want to help?  How moral are you if you cannot be bothered to inform yourself before tinkering with the lives of others?  I know, I know, we are only supposed to look at your good intentions, never the outcomes.

If you are lucky enough to be born in America, not a lot is required of you.  Our nation really only makes one demand of your time, and that is to stay informed.  As Thomas Jefferson once said, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be… it is the responsibility of every American to be informed.”

And frankly, as long as you do not exercise your right to vote, then you really do not even have to do that.  But if you, in your ignorance, felt the selfish need to vote despite the fact that you really knew nothing about the issues, and most likely voted for Obama, despite the fact you really knew nothing about him, then it is time to help reverse some of the damage you have done.

Learn your history! Learn why the Marxist takeover of our government is a frightening thing.  Learn how damaging FDR’s New Deal policies were to this nation and why it has been a mistake to repeat them.  Learn about the origins of the Progressive Movement in America.  Learn about Keynesian economics and why it makes no sense.  Learn about the founding of America and why it was so remarkable.  Become familiar with the history of our current Liberal leaders – from our President to his administration, his czars, this Congress, the courts and on down.

I can hear the excuses now, but please, do you really think you are that much busier than other people?  Do you think that because you lead a hectic life you get a pass?  Do you get to sit back and let others fight for your liberty on your behalf?  If I sound angry, it is because I am!  Perhaps you think I am taking all of this personally?  I am!  And if you’re not, then you’re not paying attention.

  1. Paul K. Davis says:

You make one mistaken assumption late in your memo, that liberals don’t have time to study. They certainly have time to put on their SEIU and ACORN shirts any day of the week when conservatives can’t hit the streets because they’re working (instead of protesting) for a living. The miracle of the 9-12 march wasn’t that there were so many concerned people, but so many that sacrificed the income from a few days off to make the trip.

  2. Good points. However, I am not sure your average Lib is out in the streets protesting. That is just their small but vocal minority.

I have quite a few libs in my extended family and they are all busy and successful. They are also smug and superior. While they are literally wallowing in ignorance on various issues, they BELIEVE they are well-informed.
