Last week, Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) proposed something completely impractical. I mean, this was so ridiculous. His proposal would have required the Senate Finance Committee to post the final language of the health care reform bill, as well as the CBO’s cost analysis, on the committee’s website for 72 hours prior to a vote. His proposal was voted down.
Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) admitted that “This probably sounds a little crazy to some people that we are voting on something before we have seen legislative language”. He went on to say it would take his committee staff weeks to post the bill online. Really? Weeks?
The very morning this jack-ass Baucus made these excuses, Houston Representative John Culberson had already posted the entire 1,118 page bill on the internet.
Baucus is just another career politician who stepped into the Beltway time warp in the 1980s and has become completely disconnected to his country. He obviously has no idea the technological developments that have occurred – – such as our advanced communication abilities! And this guy is in charge of writing the Senate health care bill.
